The folk singer/songwriter has curated a collection of lullabies for both children and adults, drawing from a variety of sources including the songs "One Thousand Pairs Of Pajamas" and "Howl At The Moon." The purity of the folk singer's voice is a sparkling joy, and the lullabies presented here are diverse and unique, filled with vivid imagery and exceptional execution. Each lullaby is infused with Herdman's expressive charm. In "While You Sleep," accompanied gently by cellist Abby Newton and other talented musicians, the beauty of nature lulls dreamers to sleep "when shadows begin to lengthen and Orion takes his place in the sky"; Herdman captures the innocence of a child's love for an old toy in "A Velveteen Love Song," a touching tribute by Bob Franke to Margery Williams' cherished "Velveteen Rabbit." "Mid Night Round," a tale of a singalong with harmonizing dolls and bears, features exquisite a cappella harmonies with Herdman harmonizing with vocalists Anne Hills and Cindy Mangsen. Herdman brings a sense of quiet enchantment to Bill Caddick's "John O'Dreams" ("Yield up the night-time to old John O'Dreams"), while pianist Donald Sosin delicately complements Herdman's soothing vocals in Billy Joel's "Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)."
